“Welcome, applicants! Congratulations on your choice of endocrinology and the start of a wonderful, challenging, and rewarding career. I grew up in New Jersey and attended college and medical school at UConn. I first came to Providence for residency here at Brown, and during that time, I developed an interest in endocrinology. By far, the greatest strength of this program is the people. The faculty are all extremely collegial, dedicated to learning and teaching, and always willing to help. My co-fellows are not only my teammates; they have become my best friends. The nursing and support staff is excellent and helpful. Additionally, the pathology is extremely diverse; our hospital has strong programs in endocrine surgery and neurosurgery and we regularly collaborate on patients and presenting tumor boards. We are the safety net hospital for Rhode Island and our catchment area includes all of Rhode Island and parts of eastern Connecticut and southern Massachusetts. Teaching opportunities are also numerous. We work closely with residents and medical students in the hospital, teach small-group conferences at Brown’s The Warren Alpert Medical School and provide lectures at the Johnson and Wales PA program. We provide an extremely strong foundation in clinical endocrinology and we wish you the best of luck in your search.”
